SUMMARY:Save the Date: Executive-Focused Education Event
DESCRIPTION:Join HCAT for an Executive Focused Event on July 21st (5-7:30pm): Changing Business Strategies and Aligning Executive Compensation \nTickets will be available in early June! \nWe welcome Healthcare Executives\, Board Members\, a C-Suite Members to attend this executive-focused event. Join us for a networking happy hour (5-6pm) and dynamic panel discussion (6-7:30pm). \nChanging Business Strategies and Aligning Executive Compensation : Among the most daunting aspects of the ongoing transformation of healthcare delivery is that many of the changes will evolve gradually\, requiring providers to simultaneously support traditional standards of patient care\, while embracing new criteria more focused on promoting wellness. Business models\, executive roles\, and related executive compensation programs will undergo transformative changes as healthcare boards and compensation committees seek to establish remuneration programs that are sufficiently flexible to allow a migration toward this new strategic vision. Executive compensation arrangements will need to focus leaders on existing core operational competencies and results and encourage the innovation and execution necessary to succeed in tomorrow’s environment. Programs that are effective and capable of withstanding the scrutiny of investors\, the community\, regulators\, and the media will be straightforward in design\, closely aligned with mission and performance\, and highly competitive given superior performance. The changes that many healthcare organizations will need to make will take some time and often require the clinical expertise of physicians and physician executives. Leadership pay programs must therefore provide the necessary incentives to encourage long-term collaboration between executives to achieve sustained success.

SUMMARY:Save-the-Date: HCAT & NAHSE Virginia Joint Virtual Education event
DESCRIPTION:Hear from two leading healthcare organizations on Designing Efficient & High-Quality Patient-Centered Healthcare Delivery Facilities Models \nTickets will be available in early July! \nNAHSE Virginia and HCAT are teaming up on this exciting virtual education event. \nEvidence-based design (EBD) incorporates the process of basing decisions about healthcare facility environments on creditable research to achieve the best possible outcomes for the patient. Historically\, many healthcare facilities have been designed primarily around the provider’s processes. However\, the facility design did not always produce efficient or effective workflow for the provider\, nor did the design incorporate the best interests of the patient. With the advancements in technology\, healthcare providers are finding out that there are proven\, efficient and effective strategies to achieve more desirable outcomes that are in the best interest of the patient. Implementing EBD principles can sometimes be a difficult decision for the provider with the concern that it may increase their costs. The key to overcoming this concern is to educate healthcare facility decisionmakers about the types of research that are available to quantify the long-term value of EBD. Since the practice of evidence-based medicine (EBM) requires conscientious and committed use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of patients it is paramount there be an alignment between EBD and EBM to provide more efficient and high-quality healthcare delivery.
