SUMMARY:Gender Equity in Healthcare Leadership
DESCRIPTION:Join HCAT and The VA Chapter of Women in Healthcare for a virtual educational event on Gender Equity in Healthcare Leadership.\n\n\nIn the US healthcare industry\, women represent 65 percent of the workforce. Despite their significant workforce representation\, they are under-represented in leadership – only making up 30 percent of C-suite teams and 13 percent of CEOs. Several studies have shown that diversity produces better outcomes – more innovation\, more creative solutions to problems\, and ultimately better financial outcomes. Women bring in a critical vantage point to the industry and according to one study; women comprise 25 percent of the leadership among the highest grossing hospitals and medical centers as compared to 18 percent for the industry. Efforts to improve women representation in the senior ranks of healthcare management must include women from all backgrounds and experiences. When intersectionality considerations are incorporated into gender equity strategies\, organizations can reap tangible\, proven benefits including better talent recruitment and retention\, stronger DEI outcomes\, and improved organizational performance. \n  \nSpeakers: \nDr. Amber Price\, President\, Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center \nDr. Shanta Bland\, Performance Improvement Program Manager\, Virginia Commonwealth University Health System \nStephanie Ross\, MHA\, Program Manager UNOS \n  \nEarn 1.5 Qualified Education credits with ACHE! \nAfter the event\, attendees will be given instructions on self-reporting Qualified credits. Pre-event registration through ACHE is not required.
