Alayna Johnson

Committee Chair, Programs, Sentara

Alayna is a graduate of Old Dominion University (2012), with a Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology. While at ODU, Alayna started her first healthcare job as a Patient Safety Partner with Sentara Healthcare. Upon graduating, Alayna started working in Radiology as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

Wanting to further her education, and being drawn to leadership, Alayna attended Eastern Virginia Medical School where she completed the Master of Public Health program in 2017. Alayna then went on to complete the Doctor of Health Science program in 2020, also from EVMS

Throughout her, Alayna has held various healthcare management and leadership positions, with oversight of non-nursing, clinical departments. In her current role, Alayna is the Director of Patient Care Services at Sentara Careplex Hospital, with oversight of Radiology, Oncology, Dialysis, Pain Management, and Outpatient Infusion services.

Alayna is a current Board member with the Healthcare Administrators or Tidewater, the local chapter for the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). Alayna serves as the Co-Chair of the Programs Committee. Alayna is also a member of the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE).
