Loren Smith is the Director of Patient Care Services – Operations at Sentara CarePlex Hospital. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Cellular, Molecular, and Physiological Biology from Christopher Newport University and a Master’s in Public Health, Management and Policy, from Eastern Virginia Medical School. She is an active Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Inc. and served as chapter secretary for four years and then served a four-year term as the elected Chaplain for the Newport News Chapter. She is also an active member of the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) where she served a one-year term as the interim president for the Virginia Chapter.
She is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) as well as the local ACHE chapter, Healthcare Administrators of Tidewater (HCAT) serving as the board’s current secretary.
