Mark Edgar Benedict is the Patient Safety Specialist at Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, currently pursuing dual graduate degrees—an MBA in Health Care Management, Innovation & Technology and an MSN in Organizational Leadership—at Johns Hopkins University. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Virginia.

Mark’s clinical foundation is broad and hands-on, beginning as an EMT and progressing to nursing roles in high-acuity settings, including the Emergency Department and the Neuro ICU. This frontline experience informs his current work in patient safety and quality improvement.

Deeply committed to advancing healthcare quality and safety across Virginia, Mark holds multiple industry-recognized certifications: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), and Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt (CSSYB).
