President’s Update | March 2023

March 2, 2023

HCAT Members,

To those that I have not had the pleasure of meeting yet, my name is Bailey Myers and I am this year’s Healthcare Administrators of Tidewater Chapter President. I am looking forward to serving the Chapter in this role and plan to do everything I can to meet the Board’s 2023 goals and your expectations as a member.

In the first 90 days of this term, the Board has accomplished the following:

  • Launched a new and enhanced website
  • Implemented a new email platform
  • Established a Diversity & Inclusion committee
  • Developed and presented specific vision & goals for all committees
  • Held two virtual education programs (3.0 Face-to-Face credits)
  • Submitted our 2023 budget to ACHE

We have been hard at work to make sure communication with our members is streamlined, professional, and up to date. I would encourage you to view and enjoy our new website!

I want to sincerely thank Jace Brady, HCAT’s Past-President, for doing a great job in leading the Chapter last year and transitioning everything to me seamlessly. After meeting with him, receiving feedback from the Board, and reviewing last year’s survey data, three of my key goals to accomplish this year are:

  1. Improve communication with our members via enhanced website and email platforms and increased social media presence
  2. Execute 6 education events and 6 in-person networking/volunteer events to provide ample opportunities for members to connect and engage with the Chapter
  3. Grow our membership base by 4% and ensure healthcare administrators in the Tidewater area understand the value HCAT brings to their career

I also want to congratulate and welcome Joanne Inman, who will be HCAT’s new Regent beginning in March 2023. Joanne will be providing HCAT with invaluable guidance and mentorship, and act as our liaison between the Chapter and ACHE nationals. We are greatly looking forward to her leadership.

I look forward to seeing and connecting with many of you at our events this year. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or feedback.

Bailey K. Myers, MHA

HCAT President
